Interesting image that of racing cars assembling slowly at the starting grid and then lapping in formation with no overtaking... While going through this unprecedented transition period, caution, preservation, survival mode seem to be the safe options. Let's say, the "instinctive" choice. But as we move forward into the future, a different "fire within" is needed. Whatever you call it —fire, passion, transformational intent— that inherently human push to go beyond safe repetition and create has always been the underlying fuel of HSM World Business Forum.
As Executive Editor at HSM, I can't be but thrilled by the historical moment of this year's edition. Global leaders are restating challenges, guidelines and policies. In the meantime, change proves that exceptions could not only make the rule but in fact change it ... that resilience goes beyond darwinian adaptability... that words are just as powerful as the earthy acts that support them... that ideas flourish everywhere as well as their "ideators" and that they are not meant to be the exclusive right of a few but the shared wealth of many (as many as possible) ... Open innovation becomes the key, collaboration, the door... and the world, the landscape... Energy & food, growth & recovery, poverty & development, climate change & greening, wealth distribution & social businesses... Some interesting "pairs" in which "now" means at once and "the future", now... Oh, yes.., What a timely World Business Forum we are having!
My name is Graciela Gonzalez Biondo. And —to stick to the F1 imagery— though the lights at the starting grid are still fully lit, from now on, we'll be sharing the exciting experience of the World Business Forum... until far past the checkered flag.
The appreciation is of beauty in irregularity, in lines that suggest rhythm and movement and gesture.
